What's new?

In May 2016, BBHS Eco became Waveney Eco. We are no longer a part of Benjamin Britten High School but an independent youth group operating in the Waveney area. This represents a bold new chapter in our mission to promote and develop sustainable living both locally and worldwide, and we are very excited to share our work with you in the future.

The founding members of BBHS Eco leave Benjamin Britten High School this year, but have decided to continue their work after leaving school. As many of us are going to different places after school, we realised that this was a great opportunity to expand our presence in the region. To do this we have become an independent group (rather than one associated with a specific school) which gives us the freedom to work to achieve our goals and to establish links with other groups and individuals that we did not have previously.

How will this affect the group?

We believe that by establishing ourselves as a independent group we gain the credibility necessary to work with various groups, individuals and authorities in order to make a real difference in the Waveney area. In the future we plan to use the group to establish connections between schools and collages in the area, work with local youth groups such as the Waveney Youth Council, and foster the next generation of Eco Group members amongst young people in the region.
The ultimate goal of the Group, promoting and developing an ecologically friendly society, has not changed. We will still be working closely with Benjamin Britten and the younger members of the Eco Group there. However, becoming Waveney Eco means that we will be working on a larger scale than we have for the last few years.

How can I help?

The best thing you can do to help Waveney Eco is to help promote us! 'Like' our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter, and be sure to share or retweet our posts.
